Presents a critical assessment of Hillary Clinton to consider why she may not be a popular choice for the American presidency.

Perseus Publishing
A New York Times Bestseller!

From the author of the #1 New York Times bestsellers The Amateur and Blood Feud . . .

Unlikeable is the stunning, powerful exposé of Hillary Clinton and her floundering race for the White House. With unprecedented access to longtime associates of the Clintons and the Obamas, investigative reporter Edward Klein meticulously recreates conversations and details of Hillary Clinton's behind-the-scenes plotting in Chappaqua and Whitehaven. Klein, the former editor in chief of New York Times Magazine and a contributing editor to Vanity Fair, draws a deeply troubling portrait of Hillary Rodham Clinton, a highly unlikeable presidential candidate and a woman more associated with scandal than with accomplishments, with lying than with truth, with arrogance than with compassion.

This book was thrown together in 2015 before the self-declared war heroine of Tuzla Airport won the Democratic Party nomination. Just the same it is an easy read and packed with all the reasons any rational human being would need to feel that Donald Trump’s win a year ago today was best for America and the world. (Trump is mentioned only once in the book (p.221), where it says that as Ms Clinton sees it, “once she clinches the nomination, Obama will have to call off his dogs or he will be seen as destroying the Democratic Party and ushering in Jeb Bush or Donald Trump.” As it happened, Obama did switch to backing Clinton, but she still lost.)
One quibble with the analysis in the book, Clinton offered to reset foreign relations with Russia when Medvedev was president. She had already demonized Putin as a New York senator in terms that should have disqualified her for the role of Secretary of State. She thought, mistakenly as it turned out, that the less rebarbative Medvedev was the real leader of Russia and that the Putin era had ended, but others made the same mistake. The reset was one of her better foreign policy moves. It ended punitive sanctions against Russia imposed by the Bush administration after the 2008 Russo-Georgian War, sanctions which made no sense considering that Georgia had been the aggressor in the conflict. To see a cause-and-effect relationship between the reset and the carve-up of Ukraine as Klein does, is wrong. In fact, it was the Obama administration’s imbecilic decision to support the unconstitutional removal from office of a democratically elected president, Viktor Yanukovych, to install as PM a NATO-friendly PM, Yatsenyuk, that unleashed these tragic events. Clinton was no longer Secretary of State then but she brought Victoria “F—k the EU” Nuland, the State Department official primarily responsible for US policy towards Ukraine during the crisis, into the State Department. She was, if anything, more the neo-con war hawk than Obama in Obama’s disastrous second term, very much in favour of stoking conflict in the Slavic heartland of the former Soviet Union.
It was clueless of Clinton to press a so-called reset button whose Cyrillic label actually meant something quite different in 2009, but given the importance of the meeting Obama himself should share the blame for it. And Clinton’s error was less ignorant than some of Obama’s, like confusing the Falkland Islands with the Maldives or Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne with Afro-American crooner Jeffrey Osborne.

If there was any doubt about Hillary Clinton 's character this book exposes all .
All those that defend her have not argument to do so, since it is clear that this woman lacks of honor and any decency at all. Mr.Klein clearly show the kind of person she really is , through her actions, those around her , who try to clean up her mess and deal with her.
I recommend this book to any one regardless their political inclination.

Cuts Hillary up badly. Clinton apologists have disparaged Klein's methods and accounts. But his point in this Sept, 2015, book, that Hillary's appeal was weaker than commonly assumed, proved correct in the election.

Absolutely scathing and really scary if even half of it is true!

Klein really has it in for Mrs. Clinton and for good reason, it appears.
