After seeing a photo of a girl on the milk carton, Janie suspects it to be herself, seeing many similarities between her and the girl in the photo. This incident then has her trying to recall her past and figuring out the many possibilities of what could’ve happened. Janie tries to ask her parents however they push her away, denying everything that she suspects and try to get her mind off of the topic. This leads Janie to do some additional research and finds an address which she visits with her caring boyfriend. Janie, however, can’t bring herself to speak to the people she thinks are her real parents and as time goes on, many deep secrets from the past arise in the moment and has Janie questioning who she can really trust. If Janie wants to continue moving forward in her life, it seems as though her only way is to study the past and overcome it. This novel had a great structure and character development however the main plot could have been portrayed better. There were some parts of the story which I found a bit predictable and dull. I would recommend this book. 3/5

Janie Johnson sees an old photograph of herself on a milk carton, what she doesn't realize is that noticing this would lead to a series of frightening discoveries. When she took this up to her parents, they denied and she tries on several occasions to contact her birth family, driving to go see them and even writes a letter but loses it, Janie doesn't have the courage to speak to them. This novel has a very interesting premise but this could have had more substance within it. There wasn't enough going on in the story to keep the audience occupied, thus it became very boring.

I loved "The Face on the Milk Carton" for its simple and disturbing premise: what if you recognized yourself on a milk carton? True story: a child named Bonnie really did recognize herself on a milk carton. Read the facts here:

I first read this book in 3rd grade. I was trying to remember all the good books I read back then and remembered this one. Now in 9th grade, I read a lot of things that I had forgotten.

Still a great book. However, it is very intense and stressful. I also kept getting the feeling that Reeve was kinda forcing Janie to have sex, and if she didn't, he would take off. Not so sure how I feel about that part, but oh well.

I've heard about this book for years, but I never got around to reading it. Finally, I did. And I didn't realize that it was a series; the book doesn't end with everything tied up like I thought it would. It was a great book, I loved it. It's a very quick read; not very long at all. I will definitely read the next one!

Sexual Content: Super minor. Just them checking into a motel and passionate kissing. They talk about having sex a lot, too.
