The Frances books were my favorite picture books as a child. I loved that she ate bread and jam at every meal and made up songs about string beans and cutlets. The illustrations personify Frances perfectly. Years later these books still delight young readers.
Picky, opinionated, and sweet, Frances has a lot in common with myself as a child. Another favorite from my youth.
