I liked the style Author Zana Fraillow used for this story. It flowed and held my attention; I liked how creative this main character boy's thinking was. I thought the subject of this book was great because it's not something many people talk or are even aware of. This is an excellent book for mature older children and adults about the subject of detention centers and refugee camps.

"Sometimes, at night, the dirt outside turns into a beautiful ocean. As red as the sun and as deep as the sky."
