I always enjoy Susan Mallory's books. I consider them "fluff" books. This one, however, had a bit more "meat" to it and I enjoyed it even more. I intend to read more of the Mischief Bay novels.

I found the book predictable; if you've read Mallery before, she always introduces some serious issues and they are all happily resolved somehow or another. However, in this novel, she really captures the hover-mother syndrome. I've seen this scenario several times and I cringe, if not recoil, when I witness this. So please, if you know a smother-mother, give this book as a gift. That topic is written with surprising understanding and compassion with an interesting twist.

A good novel that is easy to read. The character of Jen is so familiar in today's times. The over anxious, anal retentive mother that hampers her child more than helps him can resonate with many of us and is a good wake up call. I found the plot a bit thin and the ending just a little too tidy and predictable.

Really wishing the ending was better.. the second book in this series was much better!

I loved this book. A good book about family dynamics and relationships and what happens when life gets in the way.
