This is undoubtedly the worst book I've read in a while. Badly written, excruciating plot development, appalling one-dimensional characterization. I could go on but it's not worth my time. Didn't finish. First and last of her books I will read.
I passed over the paragraphs where the characters talk, talk, and talk to each other and then those where the author summarizes and explains the conversations. The story about Cira and the mists of a lake in Scotland were paragraphs used to make the novel longer without adding to the Jane and Caleb storyline. That annoyance along with my inability to suspend disbelief about Caleb's supernatural powers made me think Johansen's Eve Duncan books are not my cup of tea. What kept me reading were some of the escapades in which Johansen involves her characters.
Not disappointing even with the review of previous actions from well known characters. I have read all of them and will continue.
Another great page turner by Iris Johansen!!! This book is full of action from the get go and it features a lot of the characters from the series. It has a very satisfying ending to several stories that have been brewing for a while. I loved it and if you are a fan of this series you will too!!
Good read! Very similiar to her other book as far as story line. Some of the secondary characters are being presented in more detail and brings better understanding of individuals past history. Shows how the past can affect the future.
