As previous reviewers, when I began to read this book, I thought it was too saccharine. Actually, I had attempted to read it before and returned it after enduring the author's sticky sweet explanation of her romantic life with her husband. Anyway, this book is worth the read after the initial tedium. I am pleased I gave it another chance.

In the form of a diary, the author details her travels to England with her husband, Joe. They visit many places through the National Trust. I enjoyed learning the history of many of their stops, including the homes of authors Kipling, Wordsworth, Austen and Beatrix Potter.

It is akin to looking at a scrapbook. There are photos, illustrations, recipes, and notes from their adventures.

This books provides a quaint means to travel to England, albeit vicariously!

If you can't go on a trip to England, at least you can travel along with Susan Branch and her husband through this charming book filled with photos and sweet stories about their wanderings and adventures.

I found little of interest in this travel journal. The font was a handwritten style, which made it difficult to read with any kind of consistent flow. On top of that, the writing style was not one that would likely keep one's attention unless you were a relative or descendant of the author.

This graphic novel-travel diary of the English countryside is my favorite read thus far with the Adult Summer Reading program.

What can I say, Susan Branch and her husband, Joe, charmed me. And now I want to visit England again. They went by ship.

Imagine living on Martha's Vineyard then going on the Queen Mary 2 and living in England for 2 months. Sweet sweet book.

Enjoyable--esp. the pictures & artwork!--but slightly inaccurate & a little too sentimental for my taste. (I prefer Marjolein Bastien.) Branch also gushes too much. She didn't go to the Brontes' Haworth!--but maybe she only went to National Trust properties?

As a confirmed Anglophile, this book is my dream. A diary of her 2 month trip to England.
