This movie is well done. Cast is good and the songs are great But I grew up with the original animated Disney movie, and I still feel that version is better.

This is a beautifully crafted and well done movie. I loved how Disney delved further into Belle's backstory and fixed the mistakes they had with Beast in the original. All your favorite songs from the original are there (they went above and beyond with Be Our Guest--its fantastic) and they've even added a few more that only amplified the story and characters. I also love how they made the curse to Beast and the castle staff much more dramatic. When I watched the original, I was under the impression of "yes, they'll be stuck as candlesticks and clocks, but they'll still be alive." In this new version they emphasize that the castle staff will turn into inanimate objects and it gives the story more feeling and tension. I strongly recommend this movie to all ages.

One of the better live-action remakes of a Disney film. The costumes and visual details are beautiful. I especially like the new original song "Evermore" sung by the Beast.

This was a Walt Disney production of a musical version of Beauty and the Beast. I did find it entertaining but believe it would have been better watched on a large screen like at the movie theater. To me I was not disappointed in watching it and it would be for all ages.

Great movie! Emma Watson did an awesome job starring as Belle.

I was going to argue that Disney has really run out of ideas since they started making live action versions of their classic cartoons, but I found this on On Demand and thought I would give it a try. I was surprised at how dark it was compared to the animated version and by dark I mean just that. There was very little color and it gave the movie a gloomy feel. I don't know if that was intended but I know that the animated version was a lot brighter, even in the beginning when the storyline was... well, darker! It was kind of cool to see the movie come to life with the special effects and so forth. Some of them were just amazing but I did find myself wanting to see the original again while watching this version. In comparison, the acting was really good and I liked Kevin Kline as Maurice and Emma Watson as Belle, but the animated version will always be the best. I did like this version enough to want to see it again. I loved Emma Thompson in the role of Ms. Potts, although Angela Landsbury is the true "Ms. Potts". So, well done, Disney, for bringing my favorite animated feature film to life! Oh and in case you're wondering, the 'pivotal' scene between Belle and the Beast (the one that always makes me cry) was almost as effective here.

While neither of the main characters were great singers, the visuals were absolutely amazing! It filled in some gaps the original, animated version left.... And the cast? AMAZING!

The makers did a mostly good job finding actors to look like the cartoon versions. They kept the songs mostly like the originals, which was nice. There were some new songs too, and a few changes were made to the story. One of the changes was that some black people were added to the cast, which makes no sense for the time period this takes place in. They made LeFou a likeable character so that people wouldn't hate on the short fat guy. Modern movies always seem to have hidden agendas. Overall, I prefer the cartoon version.
