Brady Higgen's life is turned upside down when he gives Riley Young and her baby, Bryony, a ride home when he sees them stranded outside in the rain. For the past few years, Brady, like everyone else in Lawton, believed that Riley falsely accused Lawton's beloved boy, Rhett, of rape. Now Riley is back in Lawton and she no longer cares if anyone believes her. From that simple act of kindness, Brady begins to realize how despicable the people of Lawton truly are. Tensions arises when Brady and Riley's friendship blossoms into something much more complicated. To be honest, this book was not as captivating as the first two books in the series. I felt that there was no chemistry between Brady and Riley; they just didn't connect for me. To make matters worse, the ending was rushed and just horribly unrealistic.
