It was kind of fun to listen to this young adult heroine story. I have always loved Wonder Woman. This is a take off on her original story. She shows herself to be almost human in some ways.

I was pretty late to the excitement for this one. I only added it to my TBR after it was released because I'm not the biggest superhero fan, despite my love for the Wonder Woman movie. But I was so so misguided in my hesitation, because a) Leigh Bardugo and b) young Diana. Honestly, what could go wrong? The answer is absolutely nothing. This was perfect. A diverse cast of super developed, amazing characters, a plot with so many twists and turns I didn't see coming, a massive amount of action, witty dialogue, humour that had me laughing out loud - this literally had it all. I adore everything Leigh does, and I can't believe I ever doubted her; I've learned my lesson, that's for sure. What an incredible ride this was.

Blind Date with a Book 2020 comment by borrower: "It was a one-night stand - didn't stop reading until it was done! Not familiar with all the mythological creatures named."

I liked this book. the ending was unexpected and the details were awesome. the book was really interesting and intriguing, and it kind of ended on a cliff-hanger, so I would like to find out what happens next.

Compared to the other books in this series it wasn't as interesting. It didn't get me hooked right away and there was a lot of details in the beginning. Hopefully, as I get more into the book it will become more interesting.

Plot. For devoted fans and newcomers to the DC Universe, this novel's plot is driven by its female characters.

This story will keep you on your toes. A strong female character packed full of action, adventure and suspense! You will enjoy the modern take on a classic story.

This book had everything! Action, adventure, romance, heroes, goddesses, friendship, and a fancy dress party. I was very surprised and impressed with how it all came together.

The best thing about this book was the cast of developed, deep characters. I loved their backstories, strengths, struggles, and flaws—everything about them was so real to me. However, I typically do not like it when authors make characters homosexual (it presses political views which I do not share), and this was no exception. Nim could have been my favourite character. Could have. Would have, if Bardugo hadn't made her lesbian. Alas, I'll have to live with it. Most books aren't perfect.
Speaking of imperfections, there was a point in the plot somewhere around the middle that made me roll my eyes with its predictability, but once I got through it I was fine. The twist at the end was unexpected, and I really wish there was a sequel.
Overall, this book was pretty good. There were some elements I didn't like, but as I said before—it's hard to find a perfect book. And sometimes I feel like I ask too much of literature and end up disappointed.

I really enjoyed this book. It had a new twist on the classic character and it was well done!
