The choice of an unnamed black girl main character is token and and not at all genuine. The other characters depicted are animals or white, and the books she picks out are "classics" written by white men. The white librarian only exists to check out her book (while second guessing the amount she wants to check out) and shush her. Skip this book.

Very cute story time book about visiting the library on a rainy day. I would recommend this book for a story time.
