Jen Wang has penned a real winner featuring a prince that dresses as a girl and his seamstress who helped him achieve his goal. Such a wonderful ending, where it all could have gone wrong. The art is top notch, and the characters really sweet.

That was wonderful! Beautifully illustrated and nicely paced with a lot of heart. Might be one of my favorites for this year.

The art in this book is quite good, and for a graphic novel the plot was complex and nuanced. Lovely story about friendship, secrets, and supporting the dreams of the people you love.

Even as a grandmother, I enjoyed reading this modern fairy tale. It would give me language to discuss these issues with my grandchildren should they want to explore non gender specific identities.

I accidentally stumbled across this graphic novel and it's got to be one of my favorite reads of the year. I love the message about being yourself, treasuring your loved ones, and just how it opens the conversation of gender fluidity, love, and acceptance. The art is beautifully done (I may have a crush on the protagonists) and it's a really quick read. Definitely recommend it!

Don't let the cover fool you--this is not your ordinary fairy tale! An awesome story about being yourself. An easy read, it took me just one sitting, and lifted my mood to boot!

I don't often read graphic novels but whenever I had a minute to read, even if I only read a page or two, this was in my hand. Highly recommend! The art was lovely, the story was so well-done and it was a good reminder to be yourself. Always be yourself.

I predict this book will be well-received for its overwhelmingly positive depiction of gender fluidity.
I thought it was interesting how at the end of the book, the author discusses choosing to portray his characters as teens rather than as adults.
The dresses in this book were gorgeous!

What a charming and adorable graphic novel. And I loved that it touched on the concept of being gender fluid. I highly recommend. :)

One of the best graphic novels I've ever read.

Some days I look at myself in the mirror and think "That's me, Prince Sebastian! I wear boy clothes and look like my father." Other days it doesn't feel right at all. Those days I feel like I'm actually...a princess.
