Very cute and thoughtful points on feeling sad. Will help all readers remember that you are still you when you're sad and that it's okay to be sad.
Flamingo is sad. Their friends, a human kid and a potato (just roll with it), talk about the nature of sadness and what cheers them up when they're sad, and ultimately reach the conclusion that sometimes it's okay to just be sad for a while. A funny, thoughtful, and surprisingly touching exploration of sadness that will both delight and reassure the young person in your life.
A delightful, adorable book. Great art. great message (it's okay to be sad). And funny too. Perfect for reading aloud.
A funny book about sadness that even young children can understand. Just think: all the years of therapy I've paid for when all I needed to do was read this children's picture book to get that sadness is fleeting and my true friends will still like me even if I'm sad again tomorrow.
I adored I’m Bored by the same team and this one is equally silly, sweet and charming. A girl and her potato friend (yes, I said POTATO) try and help their buddy flamingo cheer up. But what if, sometimes, we’re just sad? For no reason at all? Normalizing feelings is important, and this story does it with wit and kindness.
Can potatoes be sad? Can flamingos be sad? Don't we all feel sad sometimes? Is it ok? And how can we help our friends turn that frown upside down.
Fred Rogers once said, "Young children don't know that sadness isn't forever." I'm Sad sums up this quote perfectly.
