From #1 New York Times bestselling author Robert Beatty comes a spooky, thrilling new series set in the magical world of Serafina. Move without a sound. Steal without a trace. Willa, a young nightspirit of the Great Smoky Mountains, is her clan's best thief. She creeps into the homes of day-folk in the cover of darkness and takes what they won't miss. It's dangerous work—the day-folk kill whatever they do not understand. But when Willa's curiosity leaves her hurt and stranded in a day-folk man's home, everything she thought she knew about her people—and their greatest enemy—is forever changed.

I read this aloud to my 9-year old son and we both loved it right from the beginning. It is a beautifully written and action-packed ode to following your heart/honoring nature.

I loved this book!!!!!!! It tells the story of Willa, a forest sprite, or faerie, who has been taught that day-people are selfish and evil, but when she befriends one, she discovers that her leader is not always honest... Now she must embark on a dangerous journey, going against her clan and everything she's ever known to save herself, her friend, and the whole forest. I couldn't put in down, and read it in a day!

I love this strong female character that just wants to stand up and do the right thing in a clan where power has gone to the leader's head. Sound familiar? Willa is a lovable character with fun magical powers set in the 1900s when pioneers have begun to encroach on her territory. I love Willa's relationship with Nathaniel, and how even though her story doesn't end like she thought it would, she finds family and friends and her world expands rather than shrinks.
