A wonderfully written book about the importance of service to our veterans, based largely on Mr Sinise's own life story and interactions with various veterans and support groups. The book inspires in a very positive way while still reminding the reader of the huge human costs of conflict. He writes with deep compassion, sincere empathy, and at times great humour as well regarding his own experiences. From growing the deeply respected Steppenwolf Theatre company, to building his present large charitable foundation, all via grassroots means, this book will make you cry, laugh, and reflect deeply on what it truly means to live in a free society, and how grateful we should all be to our armed forces and veterans for protecting the very rights and liberties that can easily be taken for granted. Well worth reading.
