Castle in the Sky tells the story of the two orphans, Sheeta and Pazu from how they meet and their discovery of the mystical floating city Laputa. Air pirates and the military are also after the treasures and power this place holds but not for the right reasons. Watch how Sheeta and Pazu stop these events from happening and find Laputa. When watching the movie I thought the scenes where they were on Laputa were really well animated. How the castle looked with all the vines growing in and around it as well as the nature outside where the robot lived was very beautiful. The aerial view of the floating castle was amazing. Just watching their adventure unfold was entertaining. It was nice to see the air pirates help the kids in stopping the military in ruling over Laputa. I thought everything about the movie was well done, I would give it a 5/5 rating. @minimonie of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board Castle in the Sky is an incredible and captivating animated film that took my breath away. I absolutely loved the story, the characters, and the animation; each equally made Castle in the Sky such an amazing film. The story’s complexity and depth draw viewers in as so much thought, it feels, has been put in towards the characters’ origins and histories as well as with the mystical Laputa, or the “Castle in the Sky” itself. The characters Sheeta and Pazu truly symbolize love and friendship throughout this film, and their relationship is incredibly genuine and touching to watch as well as their lovely personalities. The character development and interactions of the pirates in the film with our protagonists is also humorous and heart-warming to watch in Castle in the Sky. Additionally, the animation in this film is remarkable. The “Castle in the Sky” is visually stunning; the exterior is grand and extraordinary, successfully conveying the idea of an ancient and historic place, and the landscapes and gardens look incredibly lush, green, and beautiful. I feel like I could go on about the animation in this film; it is absolutely breath-taking. Overall, Castle in the Sky feels like an ancient and timeless story (probably because of the ancient castle), and I feel like that aspect of it makes it so beautiful and appealing. 5/5 stars. @demi.god.on.a.mission of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board This 1986 fantasy/action film is about a young orphan named Sheeta who is kidnapped, and brought on a major adventure that includes pirates, magic, and more. The movie had many fantastic moments that created wonder and had a lot of beautiful special effects. The actors were charming as ever, and really pulled off their roles. What I liked about the movie is how it brought two orphan children together, and combined magic and evil to make things fun and exciting. I would rate this movie 4.5/5 stars and recommend it to those who like family friendly films with a lot of imagination and creativity. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
