This was a terribly strange means to prequel the City of Ember. Up until the very last few pages of the book this novel had absolutely nothing to do with either Book One or Two. I get that this prophetess was supposed to have envisioned a world where an underground city would be necessary and Nikki's father was secretly off working on that undertaking, but again Nikki and Grover go through this discovery that is completely isolated from the other two books. The nature of this novel was also more mature than the childlike nature of the others as well. Overall the series seems disconnected.
