Counting myself amongst the "aged," gave me the opportunity to read this excellent book on the topic. This book enabled me to understand that "Acceptance of decreased ability is not the same as capitulation." In a lighter vein perhaps Mark Twain summed it up best when he said, "Life would be infinitely happier if we could only be born at the age of eighty and gradually approach eighteen!" Dr. Lustbader fills her books with sayings and examples of people living their best years of their lives in their golden years.
