This third Rachel Knight novel was much better than the second one, Guilt by Degrees, which was a disappointment with its over-the-top convoluted plot. I think one of the things that makes Killer Ambition so much better is that the plot is much less confusing, although to be sure we are thrown red herrings along the way, but everything ties together in the end. It's also driven more by the courtroom drama than Guilt by Degrees and its convoluted plot. Finally the characters in this novel hold our interest throughout the story.
