Honestly I should stop reading books by this author because time and time again I am let down. OK, so this book is slightly better than Fifty Shades of Gray, but only slightly. There are a LOT, and I mean a LOT of sex scenes. Basically every chapter! So if you want erotica with practically zero plot line, here you go. Gideon and Eva are two very damaged people who have immense chemistry between them. However, there doesn't seem to be any actual relationship and character development for MOST of the story. There is a little bit here and there (the therapy sessions and near the end where Gideon reveals his inner most dark secret), but barely to make any difference with the story. Basically Eva wants to trust Gideon, but she has trust issues due to her past (it sounds like a brutal past, based on what I have learned in this book) and is working to try and get through the rough stuff. Luckily she has an amazing support team, like her mom, stepdad and BFF roommate. Gideon seriously keeps telling Eva to trust him but refuse to reveal or explain any of his mysterious and easy to misinterpret actions (which does nothing to help poor Eva at all <- seriously she already has trust issues, just explain your stupid actions so she can stop jumping to conclusions!). It is only until the climax that we find out why Gideon did what he did, but even then he is super duper controlling and cannot trust Eva to use her best judgement to handle or understand the situation. I feel that if she had felt her life was in danger, she would have taken the proper precautions and with Gideon having someone tail her, she was pretty safe. So..... super controlling and rich guy who doesn't like to talk much, with a frail and need to be taken care but pretty looking female, and lots and lots of sex. Yep, sounds like Fifty Shades of Gray, minus the bondage stuff and inner monologue by the female protagonist.
