The Powerhouse

Inside the Invention of a Battery to Save the World

I am a retired Electrical engineer and the author of two books on battery and solar power. I was a bit disappointed with this book. I is not a history of battery development but a some kind of cheering section for the government lab at Argonne. Too much attention to the private lives of a bunch of pampered prima donas who worry about who's parking space is bigger and very little mention to actual batteries that we use. No discussion about all the fires from poorly built Lithium batteries from China. No praise for the excellent batteries from 123 that powered almost every power hand tool . And this author demonstrates his ignorance of engineering by his lack of precision in technical terms, If you are looking for a 300 mile car look no further than your Tesla Dealer. and Tesla is using 2005 technology.
