Although the direction and supporting cast are both good this movie suffers one major downfall. Tina Fey can't act. She has absolutely no range of emotion and is incapable of conveying the sorrow, fear, or relief that were so necessary in scene after scene. If there was supposed to be some point or commentary to the story they conveyed it very poorly. All I managed to garner was that Afghanistan is a ragged third-world country with corrupt officials, terrorists, and sexual deviants. I'm not so sure that's what Afghanistan is really like. And, it came across as very bigoted.
