Sapphique is an adequate, but unsatisfying sequel in the end to Incarceron. Some parts of this world become clearer as we run desperately along, but there are new jumps in the story explained neither by what we know of the magic nor by what remains (as far as we know) of the technology. Ultimately the reader has an interesting time on the way, but feels cheated at the end as the loose ends are not woven together but loosely and hurriedly tied in a granny knot. This is, however, the end of the 2 book series.
