Stef's ex-best friend gave her the nickname "Taco Queen," and that's not meant as a compliment. Her parents own a food truck and she can't think of anything more embarrassing than being picked up from school in "Tía Perla." On top of that, her parents are so over-protective that she never gets to do anything. She wishes she could just be like other kids: go see pop star Viviana Vega when she comes to town, plan and go to the school dance fundraiser to help save the school art program. But when her family’s livelihood is threatened by new requirements for the food trucks in town, she realizes what truly is important to her. Great #ownvoices book about the experiences of a Mexican American girl with school, friendship, family and civic engagement.
