Like the idea of Zig - a mortician at Dover Air Force Base that takes such great care and detail with the bodies of our fallen soldiers. Liked the idea of Nola - the Artist-in-Residence recording the aftermath of war thru art. The fact that her artistic eye helped her observe details that other didn't see was interesting. These two different kind of artists working together had potential but I didn't like this book as much as his Culper Ring series. Zig's reason for obsessively trying to help Nola is weak. Nola repeatedly double crossing and admitting that she doesn't like Zig adds to the disconnect between them. The Houdini aspect of the book which I thought would be interesting turned out to be disappointing and a little confusing to follow. Giving it 3 stars because I still think it has potential and am hoping if he continues with these characters they will develop a closer bond that will improve the storyline.
