I love, love, LOVE this show. It's refreshing to see a competition that is solely about the subject of baking, and not cut through with the dramatic noise of back-biting and fighting like in typical reality and competitive shows. The contestants, hosts, and judges are wonderfully charismatic, and it's easy to cheer for every baker. I'm learning so much about baking and different baking techniques from each episode, and feel inspired to try some of the recipes. On top of all that, I find that this show is on a Bob Ross-level of calm -- it's extremely relaxing to watch. NOTE: There are several discrepancies with the PBS version of the series. - First, in the name: The original BBC 2 title is The Great British Bake Off, vs. the PBS/American version, The Great British Baking Show. - Next, the seasons are dis-ordered. For example, this PBS version -- labeled Season 1 -- is actually Series 5 of the BBC 2 version. Season 2 (American version) is Series 4 (British version), and Season 3 is Series 6. Not sure why these differences exist, or why PBS doesn't follow BBC 2's order.
