Good film but I agree with one of the other comments that this was a carefully crafted version of events. I heard Sasha Baron Cohen, who was originally slated to star as Freddie Mercury, in an interview explain that he left the project because he wanted to show aspects of Freddie's personality and behaviour that the band preferred to keep hidden. If anything, this film reminds me of how business savvy Queen is. Through Wayne's World in the early 90's and now with this film, they continue to find ways to introduce their music to younger generations and garner attention for their band. They are awesome at legacy building. On a less cynical note, Queen is indeed an incredible band. I've often said that you don't have to like every Queen song but every song is a masterpiece. They were excellent musicians and wrote interesting and different music. This film showcases some of that talent and uniqueness that the band has. Overall, not an important film, not a deep film but an entertaining and generally good film.
