There were a few moments, while watching Years and Years, that I thought "I can't watch this during a pandemic, it is just so dark." But then I'd remember that it is perfect pandemic watching because there's always darkness along with the light - that's my take away from Years and Years, an HBO limited series that takes us forward in time through the eyes of an English family. I loved the whole thing but almost didn't buy the ending. But then I decided it felt too good to dismiss and I just went with it. You will never look at Emma Thompson the same way again.
