A decent ending to a trilogy. The fact that a good portion of the book takes place on an alien planet made it interesting to read. It did go down a proverbial road that I figured it would go down and had typical social commentary. At times I felt it was pushed a little too hard which took away from the story. I was happy to read all three books and will be curious to see if the author comes out with more. If you've read the first two, no reason not to read the third.A decent ending to a trilogy. The second book in the "Themis Files" trilogy has a character return and a lot of new ones show up (wink-wink). In an attempt to not spoil anything, all I can say is a lot of questions get answered and some new ones get asked. The format follows book one, in that it is told in a series of interviews and diary entries. I'm still a fan of this style as it makes for a quick read. If you enjoyed the first book, you'll enjoy the second. I've already started the third, and I'm curious as to the direction this trilogy will finish in.The second book in the "Themis Files" trilogy has a character return and a lot of new ones show up (wink-wink). The first in a trilogy (all three are out now), "Sleeping Giants" is written in a series of interviews, news reports/articles and briefings. Similar to Daniel Wilson's "Robopocalypse." I think this style made for a quicker read and I enjoyed the concept of a giant robot being discovered by the human race and seeing them figure out why and what to do with it. I'm looking forward to finishing the series. The first in a trilogy (all three are out now), "Sleeping Giants" is written in a series of interviews, news reports/articles and briefings. Absolutely wonderful. The world building was great. The characters were interesting. The pacing was on point. The book is written in three parts, and each part is almost its own genre; so, it's hard to describe the type of book that this is. The closest I can think of is Asian-Military-Fantasy. This is the first of a trilogy and more people need to be aware of it. As a warning, this does contain some of the most brutal scenes I've ever read, just don't let it detract from the overall book if you are squeamish.Absolutely wonderful. The world building was great. This movie was so much fun. It had action, humor, emotion and amazing acting. It was like watching a live-action anime, but not as over-the-top and actually good. Highly recommended.

Science fiction novella that focuses on a security robot (Murderbot) that has hacked its own programming to achieve independence. Murderbot has a very sarcastic outlook on humans and would much rather be left alone than anything else. The short pager count makes for a fast delivery, but you get caught up pretty quickly. Not a lot of character development, but the focus is on the robot more than any of the humans. Slightly thought-provoking, but its page-length kind of holds it back from getting too deep.Science fiction novella that focuses on a security robot (Murderbot) that has hacked its own programming to achieve independence. I liked the movie and found it entertaining. I do wish DC had taken their time and done a Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman movie before this one, just to better establish the characters. A lot of this movie was focused around catch up and trying to both explain who these heroes who hadn't had their own origin movie are, and the plot. It often seems as if DC is trying to keep up and match Marvel more than put out a great movie. Affleck is the only questionable casting choice for me, with all of the others seeming to be spot on. If you've seen all of the other DC movies, you might as well watch this one too.I liked the movie and found it entertaining. Probably the weakest of the Pitch Perfect trilogy. Still has funny moments and good singing. If you've already seen the other two, might as well check this out from the library since it's free.

Great Supehero Urban Fantasy title with tons of action and a unique take on light v. dark. It is very tongue-in-cheek and pokes a lot of fun at the superhero comics genre. The author does a great job at world building by having the narrator speak in such a way that you feel as if the two of you are sitting at a coffee shop while she tells her story. Fun cast of characters and exciting super powers. The second in the series comes out Nov. 6, 2018 (as of 5/2/18) and is called "They Promised Me the Gun Wasn't Loaded."Great Supehero Urban Fantasy title with tons of action and a unique take on light v. dark. The battle between All Might and All for One ends and the world will never be the same. The students feel the aftermath when U.A. makes some changes. This was very much the Sci-Fi version of Pratchett and Asprin. Good military science fiction mixed with tongue-in-cheek humor and sarcasm. It really seemed to be making fun of how the military is run/organized, so there were some jokes/points lost in translation that would be picked up easily for someone with that background. I still found it fun to read, though. This was very much the Sci-Fi version of Pratchett and Asprin. Good military science fiction mixed with tongue-in-cheek humor and sarcasm. Unfortunately after reading Brown's 5th book, I still stand by "Angels & Demon's" and "The Da Vinci Code" being my two favorite Robert Langdon books. The book seemed to both drag in parts and yet have a plot that went by fast...I don't know how. A couple of the twists I figured out early on and the climax was a bit of a let down. Also, I initially liked this series because of it's focus on puzzles and symbology since that is Langdon's profession. This book didn't really have a lot of that and what it did seemed forced. A bit of a letdown.Unfortunately after reading Brown's 5th book, I still stand by "Angels & Demon's" and "The Da Vinci Code" being my two favorite Robert Langdon books.
